Mustafa Varank, Minister of Industry and Technology of Türkiye, said that according to the planning roadmap, Türkiye's AI sector will account for at least 5% of GDP by 2025.
Speaking at the Global Technology Governance Summit organized by the World Economic Forum, Mustafa Volanke said that Türkiye would design a national AI strategy around six priority areas, namely human capital, R&D support and innovation, data and technology infrastructure, and economic integration.
In our strategy, we also have a series of goals, such as achieving 50000 jobs in artificial intelligence and increasing the proportion of AI research and development expenditure to 15% of total research and development, "he said at the summit.
Frank also emphasized the importance of data, saying that it is the oxygen of artificial intelligence. He said, "You first need to persuade the data owner organization to share the data they own, and then ensure that the data you receive is reliable
Frank pointed out that artificial intelligence has driven tremendous technological changes, which always make people feel anxious, but they will lead us towards the fourth industrial revolution. Despite concerns about rising unemployment rates, labor-saving technologies have always improved workers' welfare, and ultimately every new industrial revolution brings new opportunities.
When stressing Türkiye's demographic advantages, Volanke pointed out that the average age of Türkiye is about 32 years old, and the younger generation has received good education. That's why we have made improving human capital our top priority in our strategic document, "he added.
